Healthy meal prep delivered to your door!
Not yet, but maybe in the near future. The menus are designed with as much variety and balance as possible. If you have any special requests, you can email Customer Support (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will try our best to sub out the problem meals.
We like to stay away from allergens so you won't find things like wheat and dairy in our food. Just to be safe, here are the eight most frequent allergen questions we receive.
NOTE: For all other allergens, please read our menus carefully when ordering to see if there is an ingredient you need to avoid! If you have any questions about specific dishes please feel free to ask us. Delicious is not an allergen, by the way.
Sound good? Check out what's on the menu this week here.
We do not ship any of our food. Instead, we deliver in-person to your house. This allows us to guarantee your meal's freshness and grow as a local company right here in Portland Oregon. This also allows us to avoid the waste of disposable shipping containers, styrofoam, and single use ice packs. By using reusable cooler bags and ice packs, we can significantly reduce our environmental impact.
We try to source as much organic and all natural product that we possibly can. It can be difficult and very expensive for farmers (and us) to source 100% of our ingredients organically. Where possible, we use local farms like Sauvie Island to give you some of the best local produce out there. By building relationships with our farmers and distributors (and keeping their farming practices in mind), we can source the best product for you, while still keeping our meals affordable.
If you do not see your city please email us at email@example.com and we will see if we have enough clients near you. If not we also offer pick up locations for you to pick up your food at your convenience.
We cook all of our delicious meals in our commercial kitchen in NE Portland. Everyone working with our food is certified in proper food handling and safety. Our staff loves to cook without gluten, dairy and sugar. Megan also trains all of our staff all of the tricks she’s learned from the last 10 years of cooking this way.
It's $6.50. That pays our delivery drivers for their hard work and organization to get you your food fast and fresh. If you want to skip the delivery fee, simply choose "in-store pick up" when checking out and select your nearest pickup location.
We will leave your food in an insulated bag with ice. You will need to leave the bag for us the next week and remember to put out a cooler for us with icepacks to keep it cold or we will charge you $10 for the bag and ice. Just leave a cooler out in an obvious spot. We have lots of deliveries and only a short window to get them all out to you.
We take the container your food is delivered in as seriously as we take your meals we prepare for you. It doesn't do us any good to source amazing ingredients, only to stick your food in non-recyclable plastic container that will sit in a landfill. That is why we chose containers that are bisphenol A (BPA) free, recyclable, and can go into the microwave without leaching toxins into your food that cause you harm.
What is BPA? It’s is a chemical found in hard plastics and the coatings of food and drinks cans which can behave in a similar way to estrogen and other hormones in the human body.
If you're out and about all day you can always take it with you in a cooler with an ice pack and eat it cold. We highly recommend reheating in the oven whenever possible. However, if you're on the go, a microwave will work great. Remember to cover the dish, and try not to overheat your food, drying out the meat and taking away the nutrients in the vegetables.
If your current diet is poor, eating clean, nutrient-dense food will help your body operate much more efficiently. This is not a diet. It’s a lifestyle choice that gives you back more time and energy, to get more joy and freedom from life with your family and friends.
You may lose some weight with our meals, especially if you add working out to your routine. We're sure you know there are no magic pills or perfect "one size fits all" diets. To lose weight you have to make smart decisions, implement real changes, and stick to them. If you're looking for a specific diet and weight loss help, email Megan at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will be more then happy to do some consulting to help you get back on track.
We have software that we use to calculate each and every ingredient we put in our meals. This helps us better calculate the macros. However, we run similar to a restaurant and each meal and macro may vary slightly per container.
If you are on a specific macro diet, our service may not work for you. Macronutrient needs can be very different depending on your training regimen. Megan created this service to help people eat better in general and make a healthy lifestyle change.
Does it? The average American eats an average of 4.2 commercially prepared meals per week. In other words, as a nation, we eat out between four and five times a week. This number equates to 18.2 meals, for an average monthly cost of $236. All that, for meals you most likely wouldn't call "nutritious."
Eating with Fit Kitchen Direct isn’t as expensive as you thought, now is it?
